How To: Editorial Alien Makeup

Aliens aren’t just for sci-fi! If you’re in need of a Halloween costume idea, this alien look is a great makeup option that’ll have you over the moon.

1.) Start with your base: Prime and moisturize your face to ensure an even surface for your foundation. Put concealer under your eyes, around your nostrils, on the corners of your mouth, and on any other dark spots on your face or neck. Blend out your concealer with a damp beauty sponge or blending brush. Apply foundation to your face and blend it out. Now is the time to do your brows as well!

Using shade Undergrowth from the Musée Beauty Impressionism Palette (or a forest green), create a dramatic wing above your eyelid crease. This line should extend past the end of your eyebrows.

Step 1. Base and map out eyeshadow shape

2.) Blend the line out to fill the space between the line and your eyebrow.

Step 2. Start shading and blending the eyeshadow

3.) Add a neon green liner under the line you created, and connect the line to the corner of your eye. Add a white liner to your waterline.

Step 3. Neon green liner and white eyeliner in the waterline

4.) Create another line with Undergrowth following the hollow of your cheek where you might otherwise apply contour.

Step 4. Green contour

5.) Blend this line out the same way you did on your eye makeup and add a neon green liner along the top of the line.

Step 5. Add shading and depth to the contour

6.) Use shade Parasol (or a pastel green) to continue shading under the line you created on your cheek. Pop shade Verdant (or a medium shimmery green) to the inner corner of your eye. Add Wisp (or your favorite highlighter) to your cheekbone, and any other high points of your face. Put on your most dramatic pair of lashes because you’re not wearing a green contour to be subtle!

Step 6. Continue to add dimension to the look

7.) Put on a black lipstick, and top with shimmer shade Verdant to finish out this look.
