How To: Anime Makeup in Six Easy Steps

Who else was a huge fan of Sailor Moon growing up? If you’re looking for something quick, easy, and cute this Halloween, try this anime inspired makeup look!

Anime inspired makeup

1.) Start with your base: Prime and moisturize your face to ensure an even surface for your foundation. If you want, put concealer under your eyes, around your nostrils, on the corners of your mouth, and on any other dark spots on your face or neck. Blend out your concealer with a damp beauty sponge or blending brush. Apply foundation to your face and blend it out. Now is the time to do your brows as well!

Step 1. Base, concealer, and brows!

2.) Time for our favorite part- blush. Take your favorite blush and blend from the apples of your cheeks to your cheekbones moving in an upwards direction. Put some blush on your nose too! Add highlighter to your cheekbones, the base and bridge of your nose, and any other high points of your face you want to emphasize. Next stop: Eyes. Start by applying Giverny (or a tan transition shade) from the Musée Beauty Impressionism Palette to your crease. Next, you’ll apply shade Haystacks (or a deep cool toned brown) into your eyelid crease and blend upwards to create a lifted look.

Step 2. Eyeshadow using the Musée Beauty Impressionism Palette

3.) It’s graphic liner time. Take a black eyeliner and create a curved line underneath your eye following the natural shape, and at the inner corner of your eye add a flair pointing downwards. Create a wing at the top of your eye and don’t be afraid to make it dramatic! The bigger, the better.

Step 3. Graphic liner

4.) Add three small triangles on the line underneath your eyes, and complete the bottom of your eye look by adding a white eyeliner in the space in between your eye and the black liner. Add the shade Poppies (vibrant red) from the Impressionism Palette to the inner part of your lip.

Step 4. Complete the eyes and shade the lips

5.) Apply Lip Glaze in the shade Cassatt to your lips and watch as your lips turn to the perfect pink color.

Step 5. Apply Lip Glaze from Musée Beauty to create the perfect pink pout

6.) Take shade Amaranthine (vivid fuchsia) from the Impressionism Palette and apply this color to the inside of your lips to add depth to your lips and create the “I just bit into fruit” effect.
